Providence Regional Medical Center
Everett, WA

Providence Regional Medical Center serves more than 300,000 patients annually and is the major tertiary care referral center for the five-county region of northwest Washington State. It is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the Pacific Northwest and rated No. 1 in the state in several clinical areas. A comprehensive feasibility study was conducted for Providence to test the potential of a major campaign to support the building of a new Medical Tower on the hospital’s main campus in Everett. The study, which recommended a minimum goal of $15 million and a ‘challenge goal’ of $20 million, was followed by a major capital campaign – the largest in the 108-year history of Providence. To date, The Campaign for Providence has raised more than $17 million, including an unprecedented gift of $5 million. Optimus is providing comprehensive direction to Providence and its fundraising arm, Providence General Foundation, in the historic success of its campaign. This has included design of the campaign plan; crafting of the case for support; development of volunteer recruitment strategies and training; and development and implementation of lead and major gift solicitation strategies.

Holy Names Academy
Seattle, WA

Holy Names Academy is a private, independent Catholic high school offering a college preparatory curriculum to young women in grades 9 – 12. The Academy, with a current enrollment of more than 650 students, is the oldest continually operated school in Washington State. It is recognized throughout the region for academic excellence and a deep commitment to its mission — to admit academically qualified young women, regardless of their socioeconomic circumstances. Optimus conducted a comprehensive feasibility study to test the potential of a major campaign to support the Academy's Endowment Fund, and a range of capital needs. The Campaign for Holy Names Academy seeks to raise up to $8 million and is the largest fundraising effort in the school's history. Optimus is providing campaign counsel to the Academy and its leadership, including guidance in the overall organization of the campaign; design and implementation of the campaign plan; development of the case for support and campaign materials; the development of volunteer recruitment strategies and training; and the development of initial lead and major gift solicitation strategies.

Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School
Everett, WA

Archbishop Murphy High School, a Catholic, coeducational school of 450 students, is the only Catholic secondary school in northwestern Washington State. The school was founded in 1988 and, today, strives for “academic excellence, spiritual enrichment and Christlike leadership for the transformation of the world.”  A central tenet of the school’s mission is to admit any academically qualified students regardless of his or her family’s socioeconomic circumstances. Optimus conducted a comprehensive feasibility study for AMHS to determine the viability of a $6.5 million campaign to grow the school’s endowment and build a new chapel and theatre. Optimus is now working with AMHS in its campaign, Faith in the Future, which has achieved early success, including a gift of $1 million. Optimus has guided school leadership in the creation of the campaign plan; recruitment of volunteers; development of campaign materials; and formulation of key cultivation and solicitation strategies.

Artist Trust
Seattle, WA

Established in 1987, Artist Trust’s central mission is to support art at its source: the artist. Through direct grants and fellowships, career training and a variety of professional resources, Artist Trust makes it possible for Washington State artists of all disciplines to launch and sustain successful careers. To strengthen and better fund its mission, Artist Trust has undertaken a $3.5 million campaign to expand its endowment, as well as create a ‘Venture Fund’ to support innovation, creative risk-taking and organizational capacity-building. In 2011, Optimus was retained by Artist Trust to update and re-confirm the results of a feasibility study conducted prior to the 2008 global financial crisis. Optimus is now working with Artist Trust to organize and execute The Campaign for a Creative Future, the largest campaign ever undertaken by this preeminent, state-wide arts organization.

St. Thomas More Catholic Church
Lynnwood, WA

St. Thomas More Catholic Church, a parish of some 1,800 families, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012. Since its founding, the parish has worshipped in space originally designed as a gymnasium and meant to convert to that use once a permanent church could be built. After more than a decade of planning, St. Thomas More is proceeding with the construction of a church to meet the 21st century needs of the parish. To fund this effort, the parish has launched the Fulfilling Our Promise campaign to raise $3 million. Understanding the unique needs of a parish in undertaking a successful capital campaign, Optimus was retained by St. Thomas More to guide the planning and implementation of this effort and provide hands-on, day-to-day campaign management.
